Why consignment?

Why not?! Consignment is a simple and sustainable way to give your gently used clothing a second life. You bring in your items, we sell them, and you earn a portion of the sale. Win-win-win!

We believe in rediscovering, recycling, and reclaiming fashion. Let's keep quality clothing in circulation and out of landfills.

What are you taking for consignment?

The short answer: adult and kid clothes, shoes, and accessories.

As you gather your items for consignment, ask yourself these 3 C’s:

Is it CUTE (or CURATED)?

  • Items should be desirable, stylish and within the season we're looking for - ie. would you be excited to find this on a rack and feel proud for someone else to continue wearing/using it?
  • Items do not necessarily need to be brand specific – however, we have a list of brands that are highest sellers in our shop!
  • Must be high-quality, well-made clothing – we pass on most "fast Fashion" brands (ie. Forever 21, Shein, Ardene, Fashion Nova, etc)

Is it CLEAN?

  • Items must be in good, excellent, or “like-new” condition
  • Freshly laundered
  • Free of stains, odours, or excessive wear
  • Free of damage (ie. holes, missing buttons, pilling)
  • Free of pet hair
  • Ready to be placed directly on the sales rack

Is it CURRENT?

  • Modern, current styles with a mix of timeless basics and trend-forward pieces
  • Vintage pieces that are within current style trends

*We aim to be size inclusive. If you don't feel we represent your size at OK HAPPY Consignment, please consign with us! It helps others know that we are in fact trying to showcase a diverse range of sizing. 

*Please note that we do not accept menswear, jewelry, swimwear, undergarments, used bodysuits, kids/baby toys, books, strollers, baby equipment or home goods on consignment at this time.

How is pricing of my item(s) determined?

We price items thoughtfully to strike the best balance between great deals for our shoppers and strong returns for our consignors.

Our pricing considers factors like original retail value, resale trends, item condition, rarity, sale history, and age—which often means items are priced below what was originally paid.

Our team handles all the marketing and sales logistics to get your pieces seen. We reserve the right to run promotions or offer discounts at our discretion.

If you have questions, we’re happy to chat—just know pricing is finalized after intake.

When do I receive credit/payment for my item(s)?

Upon sale of your item(s), a percentage of the final sale price will be credited to your Consignment Account and can be used as store credit immediately (hello wardrobe refresh?)

  • 40% for womens items
  • 30% for kids items

Consignors with more than $25 accumulated in their account may request a cheque payout before the 20th of each month to receive at the end of the month.

Cheques must be claimed within 6 months of the sale date of the item – any remaining balance will still be available as store credit.

What happens if my item(s) don't sell?

At the end of the 90 day window, any items that have not sold can be returned to you and/or donated to one of our partners (as determined in our consignment agreement).

We ask that you reach out to us on or before your expiration date. You can keep track of these dates on your consignor portal. We will not contact you about your expiring pieces.

Once you have requested to pick up your unsold items we will store them for 7 days. Anything not picked up within 7 days may be considered abandoned and may be donated without compensation or recourse. We have very little storage! 

Brands we LOVE (and our customers do too!)

To help guide and give you the highest chance of success with consignment, review our list of brand favourites for women and kids!

That being said, we're always on the lookout for stylish, seasonal, contemporary, and vintage pieces - this is not always brand specific.

Because we want to offer our customers high quality items that last, we will pass on most "fast fashion" items because their quality doesn't hold up over time. Examples: Shein, Forever 21, Urban Behaviour, Ardene, etc.

Is shipping an option?

Not yet! But once we're settled into our physical shop we are excited to offer shipping and expand into our online shop as well.

What is your return policy?

All consignment items are final sale.

All consignment clothing items are pre-loved, which means that although they are in great condition they still may have a little wear.

We carefully look for each item to ensure nothing is damaged before we sell it, but please keep in mind that these items are sold AS IS.

If there is anything small damage to the garment, we make every effort to note it in the product description to ensure you have all the facts before purchasing.
